the scent of clouds about to burst (sensuality of the skies)

By anathema

humidity
makes the air
sticky
with coming rain

the breeze
crisp
and scented
sharply
with lightning
brushes my air
away from my face
gently

it caresses me
like
a just-awakening lover

i welcome it
with eyes
that shine
with a strange
excitement

perhaps
my blood
crackles
with the slashes of light
that shatter the darkening heavens
and rip the clouds

maybe
my heart
screams
along with the feral beat
of otherworldly drums

i taste the heat of the sun
the blue
of the summer sky
and the sensuality
of the rain
that pounds
hard
fierce
and heavy
on so many fields
and forests
who lets their dry soil
beckon
coquettishly
until at last
the earth is wet
warm
and ready
to bloom

all this
fills my soul
with energy
and passion

first drops
begin to fall
i laugh
with joy
and wonder
open my arms
and embrace
the world

I think this is one of my favs from you. " who lets their dry soil / beckon / coquettishly", that is simply genius. I can feel the thirst of the soil. Just awesome.
