High

By Liath

Tonight I felt my spirit fly
With the wind in my face
I was afraid that I might die
And fall back down to this horrid place

The bump in the stereo
Accelerating the beat in my chest
Flying free on an aerial
After this flight, my soul be lay down to rest

Feel like I could jump out of the window
And outrun every car on the highway
My emotions have hit a crescendo
You are all I want, but I won't ever see that day

Soaring high among the angels
Skimming clouds, spinning halos
Changing direction at break-neck angles
Watching my love, it's been left fallow

Back to my body, back to life
Inside my head, put to the knife
Thrown in reality, put back in strife
That's why I wish to...end my life

Some of the rhymes sound a bit forced, but other than that...simply beautiful. Nice job.
