secret slaves

By missanthropic

watching the laboring of an underpaid undocumented person squinting beneath the hot sun as i sit here smoking, fills me with bloated guilt at my overwhelming laziness.
their sweat stains the rags that clean our homes.
they are the unrecognizable masses that both cradle and suffocate our economic structure
well worn bodies and overtired souls denied the right to prosper above the poverty line by a society that covets its own wealth with unmatched inhuman ferocity.
on those broken backs rests the motivation our privilege lacks.
uneducated minds whose latent talents are wasted in the kitchens, bathrooms and backyards that they will never call their own
paid in cash and probably with the income generated from the overpriced rent they pay those slumlords and stingy tippers at the car wash.

(similar to life...this remains a work in progress...)
