a breath of fresh air

By missanthropic

withdrawn and uncomfortable
amongst strangers or friends alike
inhaling high levels of toxicity
my body relaxes
while filtering mediocre conversations
blood vessels constricted
my heart labors as i light up again
at the stoplight avoiding eye contact with those around me
dirty lungs and a heavy chest
waiting for someone or something to turn green
breathing in this slow cancerous death
i will not control this impulse...
yet, for now only the cold comfort of disassociation
and suffocating myself in futile exhalation
keeps me gasping for air

oh what a wondrous write i feel is the best of yours so far, i like the flow and choice of words and subtle intracacies of clever images, and the whole vision of the feelings is astounding

The detail and descriptions so precise and well articulated, I can relate to this, I really felt it as I read through. Amazing. A really great write. ~L

This is a great description of me. I'll add it to my favorites for now. The line "waiting for someone or something to turn green" is very interesting.
