Jehovah vs. The Morning Star vs. Ourselves

By Liath

Woo woo
I'm a sinner
Woo woo
Who gives a FUCK?!

Don't point your fingers
Don't raise your hands
Towards the sky
Pleading your lord

To forgive me
Because I'm not seeking
Immunity
Or asylum

I live the way I want
I live the way I feel

There is no God
Yea, there I said it

Oh, wait..
I'm still here, aren't I?

Shouldn't he have smited me?
Or maybe just plague me with burns
Like Job

Tell me
Why would you want to worship someone
Who would do that to his "children"
Just to find out if he believes?

If he's God Almighty, wouldn't he
Have the self-esteem to deal with non-believers?

Guess not.

And oh yeah, Jesus didn't die for You
He was executed. Period.

Vengeance is mine, said the Lord, as the Bible reminds us. So is Divine, transforming Grace that comes from the Wounds of the Crucified and Resurrected Son of God, Jesus Christ!

Bull.

The Bible is man-made.

Socialization, even in the "best" of societies, doesn't make us immune to evil, as much as we hate to admit it.

This is why the Christian's struggle is with a personal Evil One. The "Our Father" prayer ends with "Deliver us from Evil" which really means "from the Evil One."

Faced with that reality, we feel our vulnerability, our actual sinfulness and our need for the Grace of Christ.

They would rather focus on an execution of an individual in the mistaken belief that his evil is out of the ordinary, disturbs the peace of mind of the rest of us "good people," and will end with his death.

Or at least until the next execution.

So choose on your own
I don't care
Religion is stupid.
Why can't we just live the way we
Want? The way that makes us happy?
Instead of always serving another
Of which we have no proof of
It's existance

(P.S. I think I'm going to take up Zen. hehe, not a religion..a way of life.)
