I followed into Daylight
By steuss
The quiet settles after storms of summer pass,
The worry casting shadows into the realms of future dreams,
And as the rain evaporates in mists,
Memory brings the cycle full,
And Dreams are demons plaguing me.
So I follow you into daylight,
Wish upon the stars I know are lingering behind the blue,
And ask them that you be okay,
The worry plague gone from your brow,
And the temperament of doubt erased from your lips.
The wisps of your hair drift down across your eyes,
The ocean eyes like a bay forgotten,
And I languish from lack of knowledge,
On how to introduce a fire of Joy,
And cast my hopes and consolation to your own.
I wake up from dreaming, and still you are there,
You are sleeping in your peace,
The dreams you have twitching your eye,
And I touch your shoulders,
Comforting you,
Whispering how I care,
How I try and will give what I have for you.
Will it be enough?
Will worry eat the soul from flower dreams,
Rabbits torn off the petals of all your flowers?
But I’ll be here to replant them,
Set up wards against the pains…
Trees will flower in late winter,
And tulips rise from ardent joy,
All because I will it,
In support of you.
