waiting on life
By nightshade
Death waits on a doorstep as another life passes by
All the things I never said to you now all I ask myself is why
I never took the chance to tell you what you truly meant to me
I let life slip through my hands
Now all that is left is a great apology
You were the best thing that ever happened
My worst enemy yet my dearest friend
I told you everything except the one thing
That meant so much at the end
Thanks for the good times that made me laugh
For the smiles and that shoulder to cry upon
Thanks for keeping me strong
Being the one I could depend on
I'm so sorry that I never told you
I LOVE YOU

Saying I love you is so difficult at times. I finally started saying that when saying goodbye on the phone. Even with my own parents it was so hard. Now it's common and easy. It's easy to say "Love ya" but hard to say I love you. Great poem. JD
