Wishing To Be Accepted
By myscreamsilenced
Caught in the lifelessness of my soul
Realizing that there’s nothing really there
You think you really know me
But the fact is, you really don’t care
Are you able to look past my problems
Into the real and un-foretold me?
If you are blinded by the stereotypes
Then I guess you’ll never really be able to see
You’ll miss the real point to everything
You’ll laugh and smile at what I’ve just said
Never actually trying to know me
Never realizing that it was a simple laugh that I dread
You seem to think I’m used to it by now
Doing the “usual” every single day
Putting on a mask of happiness when any of you are around
Ignoring me, not knowing how hard it is for me to stay
You are hearing me but not really listening
Or else you would have noticed the quavers in my voice
Pretending that you care, but never putting in anytime
But then again, you just assume it was my choice
I wish people would just accept me as me
And accept that people are all different
And looking back now on the way it should have been
But you’ll end up never knowing what I really meant

Loved it. I relate to this so much. I like your writing style, as well... it seems deeper than the words actually portrayed. ~Amber
