Ebony Heart

By nightshade

An icy hand grasps my ebony heart
As painful memories burn in the dark
Fears rise to the surface like oil on water
I break into prayer have mercy on me heavenly father
Yet in this pitch black night all is lost
All for an action I took and didn't know the cost
Now I've been cast into a deep dark pit
My mind no longer healthy and my soul unfit
Now I the scourge of the earth
Walk among men as they carry themselves in sadness and mirth
Now comes the torture and fear in an ebony gale
As evil struggles and finally prevails
And destruction rides in on the next tide
Bear your sad and lonely heart for there is nothing from me that you could hide
