Them

By sweetambrosia

lies, deceit, it's so unjust
you don't even know me
and yet you judge me
behind my back
you tell me to my face
that you accept me
and befriend me
and yet you cannot say
what you really think of me
and you still claim the right
to lay upon me
the ideas that you
have about me
just like all the rest
you only see the armor
and then get it in your head
that I'm like any other
and so you continue
in your narrow world
thinking what you like
because you know you're right
and I'm the thing to be hated
because I cannot be accepted
for who I am
who is that really
I don't even know
just someone trying
to blend in
and yet I am the one
who is called out
everyone assumes to know
exactly who I am
and you are just the same. . .
as them

I hate trying to blend in, I've stopped trying. It's hard to accept that people like us can't be accepted, I feel you there. Remember, in history, it's the rejected, like us, who are truly great.
