Well, Damn. Farewell

By Dilated View

I'm very glad I was able to find this place when it was absolutely booming.

There's no real tribute I could give to this place and the people I've met over the last 20+ years that would do anyone any amount of justice.  Or that would express what this place has meant to me.  Or that would express how it has shaped my life.

I met the beautiful person who, now almost 15 years ago, I would get married to here.

We have teenagers who will be young adults in the not too distant future.  The age I was when I first found this place.

I've made so many connections here along the way.  Some of those people have, tragically, left us.  For many, many more I know this place and the people here are one contributing factor for their continued participation on this planet (when at times they'd seriously considered getting off the ride).

So... fuck.  Thank you Matt and everyone else who kept this place going.  A quarter century+ is an amazing run.

When time machines are finally main stream I'll make a point to go on vacation to the early 2000s to re-observe the (many) incredibly enjoyable years of this place in full swing.

I definitely didn't fully appreciate what we had at that time, assuming it would always be that way.

I certainly will appreciate it in hindsight.

Take care,

I would casually come back and say hi. This place is both good and bad, but I’m happy it existed. I’m glad I know you.
