If Only I Could Swim

By Commander_Cadaver

Waves of emotion

Hit and break over
My mind, repeatedly.

Drowning in my own body

Emotions once held back
By a dam of pharmaceutical
Cocktails now race into my lungs

Choking...

Needing air.

Needing...pain.

No, no pain.

I need out of this...

This dry drowning.

.
.
.
.
.

Reaching out for help.

Those I care about reach back
And try their best but...

If only I could swim.

Beautiful images. I enjoyed this because of its warmth and bitterness simultaneously. Thank you for sharing. :)

Your head is still above the water. Thrash, kick, try. And yell, should you need a life guard.
