Never As It Seems
By RoseTheBrokenHearted
I looked up
To see you saying "I do"
But it wasn't me,
That you were saying it to.
I don't have a name,
Only a face.
I just know,
That she was standing in my place.
I had trembles,
All down my spine.
How could she,
Come to take what was mine?
I now wonder,
If this is how you felt?
How did you handle,
The cards that you were dealt?
I couldn't believe,
That it had only been a nasty dream.
Oh, how things,
Are never what they seem.
Do you miss me,
As I miss you?
Can you tell me,
If this has you feeling blue?

I love the simple metered rhyme that this piece holds throughout. It’s hard to not shield ones truths and state them so directly. Wonderful.

Uh oh. Is there ganna be a cat fight in the to be continued? I can imagine this is a lot more common at weddings than anyone will ever admit! An interesting start to what I'm guessing has more to come. Nicely done :)
