Casa de lobos

By molock

you're not your-self,
never alone.
you feel the presence
of your inner demons,
they're feeding on your
soul...

you sought shelter from
the storm,
the wind was blowing
colder,
and the wolves were
gathered at your door.
they bite the hand that
feeds them,
...and keep coming back
for more.

so you took the high road,
tried to make it your home.
you thought if they couldn't
find you there,
they would just leave you
alone.

when that didn't work,
you had nothing left to lose.
so you paid the piper,
...to play a song for you.
a special tune,
that only he could conceive.
one that would cast a spell,
and set your demons free...

when the song was over,
and your condition wasn't
relieved,
the piper turned to you
and said...
sometimes you get what
you deserve,
...not what you need.

I wouldn't have tipped him Mo if it was a funeral dirge. Interesting turn of phrases along the way. Some demons just won't listen. Cheers for something differently original my friend - Dan
