Sorrowful Songs of Things that have Gone Wrong
By Noel Haiasi
I know you care
I know it's true
Your words show as much
But I can't continue for you.
You claim you can save me
That I have a purpose
In exactly what way
Is living through pain worth it?
Blasphemy!
Everything you're telling me
Impossible!
All that you're asking me.
I can't shoulder that burden
Of existing to appease you all.
So let me fade like music notes
From a song of pain and loss.
Let the world take my life from me
As I have taken time to do nothing
But sit and dream of hopeless possibility
And sing the song of self loathing.
Playing chaotic melodies
On a dusty keyboard in a corner
Waiting for the clock to tick away
The measures of this sorrowful song.
I'll listen to it over and over
Ignoring all your cries
And all that you're pleading to me
While playing this song of lies.
And when the song is over
And the notes have faded away
I'll sit there fading quietly
And listen to the song of silence.

Let me start off by stating how much I LoVe your title, brilliant. Your tone, so sincere. You had me feeling as though I were waltzing, which isn't too farfetched. Great piece! -Write on

I rather enjoyed this. "So let me fade like music notes", this is wonderful here. The use of music to describe the subject fading into the background is a great use of imagery but more so than that, of word choice. It makes it visceral. This is well done and enjoyed the simplicity of the message but not to be diminished by the delivery. Well done.
