Weight of the world
By Artanis
Nothing prepares you for this
The cold winter
Without love
Without gentle hands to hold
Fragile arms close
To a healing heart
Gentle hands have let go…
And the heart falls to pieces
Tragedy smothers the last light of summer…
The burden of knowing Is surprisingly weightless
Like a cloud
But the burden of living
Lonely
With a broken body
Ignorant to the existence of a soul
Is heavy,
As heavy as the Earth resting upon
Weak shoulders
And Atlas will never take the burden back

Why should he when the world is too much with us? Cheers and Atlas never had it so good - back in the long ago when simpler times gave voice to ancient memories forgotten now, cheers A! Wonderful piece here, thanks!
