Today's truths (spoken)

We are all composed of stardust
and so is dirt.

You will inherit your father’s sins;
shortcomings; and nebulous gazes.
You will inherit your mother's deluge of
quilts unfinished and songs unsung.

Your writing will seem mechanical and fixated
on days of joy, and dexterous on hollow nights
spent circling parking lots.
The grief will paint your tongue black
and coat your eyes with milky film grain.

You must forge an alliance with the desert.
Its howling, chilling winds will embrace you
like lost lovers in your nightly dreams of longing.
The dances of blue agave and tumbleweed thorns
on your ankles will be a tactile treat
for your closet masochist.

You will feel a flickering nausea that is jaundice-yellow
when you peer into your own canyons
and realize their daunting depth.

The hunter often becomes the hunted.
Humble yourself before
your imminent death.

Before even commenting, I clicked the favorite button. To you, I can only interpret in minimal ways how this feels. To myself, this speaks, no, screams, truth at me. Every thing tucked away into silky corners of darkness floods its way out of the bloodstream of lies. This forces me to look at the truth. Well writ.

Speaks volumes to me about limitations. Undaunted by my own, I find I can be courageously resolute in my own difficulties, yet the even the most foible flaw in another paralyzes me to the core. Could it be my masochist is out of the closet? Perhaps one day. Superlative write !!!

Wow, your writing is inspiring. Only by reading it, it feels like music, the eternal symphony of the night. I envy your writing skills!

This one's got a lingering sting, like February slapping you in the face and screaming buy a coat you bum.... very nice

Although I too noticed the echo, and enjoyed it in the reading of the work, I didn't find anything frightening or eerie to it, but rather my own interpretation... the universe's reminder that no matter how great we think we are, everything we've done, everything we are, everything we will be is... so tiny and unimportant when compared to the grand scheme of things. Thanks for sharing the link! Nice to have a voice in my head for all of the future reads...

As always, there is just something about your writing that acts as quicksand to my mind. "tumbleweed thorns / flickering nausea" . . . feels a tad like being led deep into the forest for an execution. If a predator feats and the screams go unheard, did anything really transpire at all? Such an ominous, negative connotation for the theme of redemption. Beautiful.

I had a feeling this would frighten. It was even slightly eerie playing it back to myself after recording. I'm glad you enjoyed my ominous confessions.

Very talented, I really like the haunting echo sound of it. However, it was easier to just go to soundcloud and enter forestfairybev into the search bar. Thanks for sharing. Nicely done :)~

Is it? It was easier in my browser to just copy and paste, but whatever works. Thank you for the read/isten and response.
