Degenerate Generation

By Hands_Around_My_Throat

We live in a degenerate generation.
Emotion divorced from sensation.
There is a propensity for intensity,
A culture of love that lacks density.

But it's all just romantic semantics-
and desire can leave one quite frantic.
Narcissim, I won't be superceded.
The self-serving need to be needed.

We carry our lives in designer bags,
Put them on hold when the WIFI lags.
Value weighted by how much you weigh.
forty-two people "liked" my picture today!

It's tragic- don't smile, remember- tears.
If you cannot be Loved, then be Feared.
Sociopathic. It could always be worse.
It hurts to care in a world so perverse.

Love the interjection of mid-line alliteration in the beginning, and what an insightful view into society "today". Bravo.
