Coincidentally...
By Deathkitten
You thought my chest was frozen
My heart
Nothing but heart-shaped ice
A block
Never to be thawed
Coincidentally
I thought it too
Until I heard it speak
Again
Pumping the words
"I Love You"
Once splattered
as if it were useful paint
Used for mixing
primary colors in vain
Aimless
on hand-me-down canvas
It's abstract!
I almost forgot
how to feel aches
& the pain
Magnetic talk
in a big game
We were a team
& talk was cheap
It blocked it all
as it tied itself off tight
after being bitten
with spite
Pins & needles
Oh how they penetrate
when forcefully shoved
through hardened arteries
Bleeding it out
Draining
the tainted sack
once filled with poison
Awaiting
hers truly
to come crawling back
Adjusted to lonliness
Shaded in black
A spade did turn
right side up
Starved & sickened
Ready to corrupt
but then she weeps
disconnecting me
beating freely
I couldn't believe
how fierce her impact
that took a toll on me
Coincidentally
neither could she

...cool write, kitten. seems that the art love makes is always an abstract...

Loneliness has a way of making it feel either eternal or deserved. Always surprising when certain people just come along and whip it out right under you. A very nice read DK.

Do we ever really get adjusted to the loneliness I wonder? Marvelous insights in the perfect metaphor, well done Jes!

Not truly, but tricking the mind is easier than tricking the heart, or so I believe. Thanks, Dan :)

They always did say I was emotionally driven. Thanks, Nikki. May your muse untangle & flow with ease :)
