The Moon

By Deathkitten

You ask for sunshine
when the sun has already been set
It's gone all the way down
The darkness is what's left
but even in the deeper shades
the moon & I have met
My light shall come from it
I do not wish
to prance in the bright of day
Each & every night
is where I tend to play
The stars will twinkle through
the midnight blue
Moon
only sometimes full
and when it is clipped
like fallen angel wings
My soul is dipped
and agony sings
in sweet sorrow
even in the darkest night
it's all I know
yet still I fight
the hungry creatures
when the moon
is out of light

Wonder who was clipping those angel wings anyway? Interesting take on the moon's light being exhausted eventually, as though it needed a re-charge perhaps. Much enjoyed and here's a silver bullet, cheers!

Very solemn with profound currents running through it. “One can speak poetry just by arranging colors well, just as one can say comforting things in music.”—Vincent van Gogh

Really? I love Starry Night. It's so beautiful. Art is just, and there are so many ways for it to speak to us. Thank you so much :)

Solitude is definitely necessary sometimes, and the night is best for that. No one has to understand it. Thank you, Red.

the moon and the night can offer up many moods and journeys, I think the night is a time of peace when the world settles down only to bore the creatures that inhabit and bask in the light of the moon. excellent poem jess! may your nights be lit by the darkest of light. awesome!
