Made-up Balloon
By Sorrowful Jester
Once again you begin the construction of a new balloon
Hoping this time nothing will wake you up from this beautiful dream
Knowing in advance that you are destined to fail, like you always do
No mater how many times you fall
No matter how many times you end up with sprains, bruises and cuts
No matter how many times you wake up crying in realization of the irrealisable,
and the foolishness of your dream
You just have to try once more
This time you are bound to find the missing key ingredient
A basket made of dreams
A balloon filled with ideals
The two of them attached with strings made of wishes
Strings strong enough to carry the weight of countless, soul burning dreams
The only thing missing is sleep
You have to sleep long enough to construct your precious balloon
You have to sleep long enough to traverse the sky, to search every nook
and cranny of the universe
To search till you find that made-up place you so long have been dreaming
of
The place where deaf can listen, where blind can see
The place where people can understand each other!
The place where dictionaries do not contain words like "suffering", and
"sorrow"
The place where people cannot cry
The balloon is almost ready
This time you have to try it
This time you should not fear to sleep long enough to materialize your
favorite dream
After all, you've achieved your goal
You've made those you love to hate you
Now, no one will miss you, no one will feel sorry for you
Now, you won't have anything to feel sorry for
Not even me
I wish you the best
A safe and sound journey
A journey from which you won't return
For here only pain resides
For here no one can hear your voice
For here no one can see the expression of your face
It is time for you to go my dearest friend
It is time for you to leave me alone
Goodbye

I'm very glad you enjoyed it. Not one of my favorites, at least until I get back to it to work on it some more, but I like the general theme. I began writing as a means of self-improvement, Nowadays, I write just to entertain, make people sympathize with the heroes of each poem, and to educate to the best of my abilities.

I logged back in just to comment on this amazing piece of poetic literature.. The war with self-doubt, gaining courage for oneself, and being stuck in an imaginary state of mind. Phenomenal I say! Wisdom and truth structured beautifully in the end. This deserves a standing-ovation.. Bows to you. Perfect 10

“I logged back in just to comment on this amazing piece of poetic literature..†This is such an honor. You almost made me smile (I never --or almost never-- smile). Weird day: I’ve been listening to snuff for 36 hours straight, and I was feeling like I should quit writing, since I had the feeling I am not good at it. Then a goddess, who has snuff’s lyrics at her profile, appears like deus ex machina (how fitting – almost poetic), and changes my mood.

fitting indeed.. Like a calming after a storm, yet the storm isn't over. Ooh...Beautiful disasters have a way of making brilliant stories! If you ever need a friend to talk to, well then, I'm only an email away. (((hugs))) : x

I do not think a comment could be more encouraging. To make those who read my work feel something is my ultimate goal -- except for quieting my noisy head by turning thoughts into words.
