The stars have abandonned us

By Alectozere

Night sky of a dark ink
Shining stars, stars which blink
Clouds floating, there goes the wind
Howling sound, furious whirlwind

Flashing lights in the dead of night
Twinkle, twinkle, share your light
Moon, halo of silver, halo of gold
Guide the travellers, save them from the cold

Twirling world, raging nature
How will it be in the future?
Fading sky in front of the eyes
The stars fade like a firefly dies

The way is lost, the wind has won
The clouds have blinded us, our guide is gone
Moon of silver, who has seen through time
Stars in the sky, witnesses of all crimes

Tell us, wanderers of the night
This darkness we are in, is this the end of our fight?
Is this how a journey ends?
Dying in the dark, wind killing our friends

The cold biting through our bones
Raging rain hitting us like stones
Screams unheard as everyone suffers
Falling on the uncaring ground, calling for their mothers

You painted a really bleak landscape and asked some interesting questions throughout. The visuals you used I felt really worked well, I could feel myself shivering . That slow death despite the struggle. I can feel this as literal and metaphor and thought in both senses it resonated. Thank you for sharing :)
