Falling Stars
By Chelsey Elaine
She was young,
delicate…
Making shattered wishes
on each shooting star,
in hopes of
stopping the desolate.
With a heart
so pure, still
believing in magic.
Though her eyes
had witnessed
flagrant acts
from the tragic.
Never confusing
A satellite for a star,
she’d memorized
each constellation.
Certain her wishes
must be granted,
by such a
promising creation.
Dreaming of stardust
falling to earth,
being sprinkled
through fingers like sand.
While the moon
compelled each one
from the sky,
helping those fix what they
could not withstand.
Deeply haunted with
‘Black-Hole’ memories,
from a mind left
tattered, and jaded.
Until she recognized
stars as merely
balls of gas
and all the magic…
finally faded.

Still hope doesn't come in the most conventional manner but sometimes knocks on your door. Maybe those wishes will come true someday who knows?

I really hope so, but it's always the same wish and never seems to come true lol

My only quirk is being a big fan of metaphors & symbolisms. Although there are many well hidden, I'd like even more, especially some for those willing to read a poem more than a dozen of times. I hope that stars and your realization, are a metaphor. Do not answer that.... Magic :)

To know the full truth is dull, there's no magic in that. Magic's not knowing.. magic's wondering about how, what and where. So I get the feeling. I'm afraid to do many thing, because I'm afraid magic is going to fade. I love it.

Wow! I could feel the magic so pure and tangible. And then- the abrupt wake up call that tragedy (sometimes- just life is a tragedy in its own) can bring. 🖤

While all is covered, blanket space, the AGN's still run this place. Though quasars reap the skies we see, the stars we shoot will set us free. This was absolutely involving of the psyche & stellar-imagery; never grow old Peter Pan, always stay young & sharp!!! Too many stop believing. I'm also a huge planetary science g333k, -Love!

And how it does suck when the curtains pull back to reveal there is no magic.
