Insecure

Searching for beauty I've never seen

Through my unsure eyes of green.

I loathe the mirror on the wall,

The picture shown makes my skin crawl.

This image reflected tears me down

And in my hatred I start to drown.

I have no hope in what I see,

Beautiful....

Is something I will never be.

Nice write but I have to say I read your page intro and you said though u can be negative you still have a heart for love, well that is beauty right there. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't ellevate our status to great person, just makes us normal and I believe our true selves normal state is beautiful. In the end you would feel more self loathing if u refused to open up and let love in or worse yet suffocate the love that u have within that needs to be expressed. Hard sometimes huh. Unfortunately, I can relate to this. Except I have brown eyes. I've always felt like the ugly duckling. I think alot of us don't truly see what the mirror reflects or even what others genuinely tell us.
