Love Birds
By Hands_Around_My_Throat
---
I
always loved your pretty wings,
But I slashed those foolish things.
I was afraid
you'd fall into the ocean,
and I would die without your devotion...
So I placed
you in a cage of glass,
and tethered you with a chain of brass.
You are just so captivated,
You take and take
[never sated.]
You will never escape your binds,
Our
chains are far too inter-twined.
---
You always loved my pretty wings,
but you destroyed
those silly things.
You
were so afraid that I would run,
And burn to ash against the sun.
So you forged an iron cage for me,
To
assure that I could never leave.
My thoughts are all about
you.
Freedom
is nothing without you.
You will always take center stage,
I could never leave this cage.
He would always hold me,
And if I could believe him,
I would never leave him.)

It is always excellent to see somebody write in metered rhyme and do it well. Nice work.

A story about obsession and how love can easily be mistaken by it. On the other hand, love can be like handcuffs, sometimes we hurt so bad as we grow in a relationship, but we wouldn't never leave the person that we love. Of course, sometimes we have to distinguish between abusing behaviour and the normal pain that can emerge in a growing process.

I love the meaning behind these words... broken wings, being caged to never have a chance to leave one another...what a beautiful thought. ♥
