R&R : Embrace This World

By Sean Mc Shane

They met in a psyche ward, so the authorities say,
Sold their souls that night and escaped the next day . . .

Taken by their demons
They made their own Hell
Turned it loose on this world
as the Angels do tell

Fueled by dark Soul-Mate lust
They perfected their hate
knowing who and what they are
they embrace their fate

Burnin' down Main Street America
while the 'norms' all sleep
In and out of various lives
the Roadkillers creep

On endless nightmare highways
with guns on the dash
The pipe's too hot to hold
while counting blood stained cash

Crosses hang from their necks
a Bible in the backseat
under some dead girl
They napped off your street

Adding souls to their collection
searching for a suicide haven
The Death Ballad plays on
for Ragman & Raven . . .

Sounds like an updated Bonnie and Clyde perhaps, or maybe Natural Born Killers by Quentin Tarantino? Anyway enjoyed the read and I'll try not to hitch-hike on your hunting grounds, cheers!

    Thanks. And don't worry about hitch-hikin'. R&R don't pick up hitch-hikers . . . it's too dangerous.

Glad you enjoyed it. And thanks for not telling me I spelled soul mate wrong. Some people just don't get it. I'm glad you did. Thanks again.
