Her Name Is Night
By WoundsLikeStars
Darkness shrouds your face
And beauty, your shadow
No amount of light can penetrate your being
And I, nestled in your neck
Can only taste futility
I can not help but look away
Your gaze, undeniable fire
To be consumed would mean my end
Shield your eyes, purveyor of night
So I may breathe you in
Your veins bleed out winter
And cold, your offering
How I long to be frozen with you
Wrap me in your frigid arms
My warmth has all but melted
Blackness surrounds your words
And surrender, my disease
Enslaved by an onyx promise
To be forever captured here
In her sweet demise

the tone is so intimate and beguiling... it almost drifts one into fantasia yet there is a specific edge that keeps thoughts from drifting too far... a familiar whisper.... lovely piece indeed

Beautful indeed. And lady she is;) I love the descriptions you give here, trying to define the beauty of the night. "Enslaved by an onyx promise", my favorite line. You mention her smell, her hands and arms, her face and the beauty it holds. Very very good write my friend. Brava!!
