Day of Age
By Rowan
A day of age but not of change,
of growth, but alas no different.
Emotions wane as the days fade
and so ends wishes of happiness.
The sun sets on a day of rest,
with relaxation seeping to
bone.
Life continues along its axis
never slowing for anyone
lost.
Discovering a forest of dreams,
dense in certain
dark corners.
Where streams needed bridges
to cross over a threshold
denied.
The worlds your own completed
and first steps taken
in paradise.
No boundaries to hold freedom,
independence in mind's
eye.
A bright future awaits on your day,
but beware of
Earth's persuasions.
Dangers to those of naivete's sister,
for
the day of age may be horrid.

Another beautiful poem Rowan. Really feels like my past birthdays. Sort of like as I get older, the less each seems to mean.

Amazing piece, it sounds like a prophecy for a great cataclysmic event at the end. The image of the forest of dreams was well conveyed, thanks for sharing.
