Day of Age

By Rowan

A day of age but not of change,
of growth, but alas no different.
Emotions wane as the days fade
and so ends wishes of happiness.

The sun sets on a day of rest,
with relaxation seeping to bone.
Life continues along its axis
never slowing for anyone lost.

Discovering a forest of dreams,
dense in certain dark corners.
Where streams needed bridges
to cross over a threshold denied.

The worlds your own completed
and first steps taken in paradise.
No boundaries to hold freedom,
independence in mind's eye.

A bright future awaits on your day,
but beware of Earth's persuasions.
Dangers to those of naivete's sister,
for the day of age may be horrid.

Amazing piece, it sounds like a prophecy for a great cataclysmic event at the end. The image of the forest of dreams was well conveyed, thanks for sharing. Scholar
