Marionette

By Miztaken4beauty

God, once more She's torn apart.
This marionette is lacking her heart.
Watch her dance! Pull her strings!
Catch her, Keep her, and clip her wings.

A prize, a puppet, a pointless endeavor,
He bought her and promised her -his- forever.
But silver tongues can paint such pretty lies,
With love and hate and soul-searing sighs.

Cut her own strings, she longed to be free,
she staggered, stumbled, and fell to her knees.
A prisoner, she can no longer proceed,
trapped in a body that her heart couldn't lead.

Unable, unwilling, she's filled with disgust.
Unchanging, unmoving, she's left to the dust,
She wants to dance again, to not be alone.
But she's merely a doll with no force of her own.

Great write, the imagery of the marionette dancing was incredible, the poem was very sad, especially at the end. a puppet with no strings, can't act on its own, very good. thanks for sharing. Scholar
