Scarlet Addiction
By Razor-kissed-wrists
I sit in math and think about
Those lonley blades in my room
My
arm shakes until my skin breaks
My scarlet Addiction
People
see my arm and ask
The only thing I say is cat
My lie so lazy
because they stare
My Scarlet Addiction
Sooner or later
my lie will fail
Because stupid people dig deeper
They'll find
out and I won't have to lie
My Scarlet Addiction
I hide
myself in a quiet corner
Where no one will look
I go unnoticed
My Scarlet Addiction
No one bothers
Which makes it easy
All by myself
My Scarlet Addiction
I dont give a shit
No one can stop me
I will fight
My Scarlet Addiction
The blood flows
A smile crosses my face
Scars cross my arms
My Scarlet Addction
Blood so red
Just a chemical reaction
But so beautiful
My Scarlet Addiction
A thick line of
dark red
Think tears of baby blue
Pain
My Scarlet Addiction
I feel so free
When I slit my perfect skin
Now it's only
perfect in some spots
My Scarlet Addiction
The cut never
too deep
Nor shallow
The PERFECT pool of blood
My Scarlet
Addiction
A red so beautiful
Hot and seductive
Scars
so pretty
My Scarlet Addiction
Against the grain
The
high is worth the pain
Sooo good
My Scarlet Addiction
They are the ones cutting me
Not me
It's their fault
My
Scarlet Addiction
It's scarlet
It's my addiction
You
can watch as I die from my
Red hot scarlet addiction

The scarlet addiction is the same as any addiction. The action may stop but it will always be in your thoughts. From a recovering scarlet addict I hope you are doing better. I absolutely love this piece. Very well written and great imagery.

One of the best poems I ever came across. The way in which it is expressed makes it even more addictive. Cutting is an addiction to pain, and that is beautifully portrayed here. Nice work RKW.

I like that alot more effort was put into this one than a couple of yours. I like the deep imagery, the visualizations are always something that appeals to me. I never cut myself, but I train people in all kinds of unarmed combat; I have several knife-fighting scars & I think those are a thing of beauty, so I can relate. I'm sure your scars are just as beautiful as your words are.

This is really good...Not only do I understand completely where you are coming from but I have learned to accept that the scars that remain is what truly makes one beautiful/perfect

pretty powerful stuff - i like the repetition of "My Scarlet Addiction" - for some reason it just works - perhaps because you hit upon one perfect phrase - well done, & welcome
