Tear Me Down

By jajang829

Here I am building up
Walls around my beating heart
Not for my own protection
Only hoping to have them gone

I struggle with the irony
All of my walls support you
Holding you up
Keeping me down

How can I watch you
Living throughout me
When all I'm wanting
Is for you to care enough
To tear down my walls
So I can lift you up

Who might you become
My soul your justification
Screaming from my parapet
Appealing you to tear me down

So egocentric your goal
Heedless the truth of reality
Indulgent only in hope
Ignorant, my opiate consumes

Refusing the pain you bear
I surmount once again
Casting you aside knowingly
No one is more worthy but me
No, No one is stronger than I

This shows a lot of emotion and leaves me wondering the story behind it. Like it is only a small sum of a huge equation. And I read it over and over looking for an answer.
