Loves Spell

By ToxicLove

Separation...

Burning a hole in their love spell
and then, the first of many tear drops fell
She opens her fist to a empty hand
the emptiness between her fingers, now void of a golden band
Reaching into the night, she finds a cold loneliness in her bed
her mind runs in circles with all the angry words they said

Divorce...

Hours pass and still no sleep in sight
she rises with the morning light
She wants to stand, but falls to her knees instead
grabbing his pillow she bury's her head
She tries to think, but her thoughts betray her
images, words and memories are now just a blur

Loneliness...

She curls up on the floor, clutching his pillow
lost in his smell she imagines him there and whispers "don't go"
Longing to hold him, desperate for one last kiss
quietly counting all the things about him that she will miss
Silence envelops her, sealing her fate
there's no longer a future left to paint

It's crazy the things love can do to a person, and the pain it can cause, no one ever thinks about that aspect of it all just the butterflies and lovedoveness that one feels. You portrayed the aftermath of this woman's pain so clearly in this piece from here, "curling up on the floor, clutching his pillow" to her "quietly counting all the things about him that she will miss." Great write and thank you for sharing =)
