I've Questioned Your Motives For A Long Time...

By saturatedloneliness6

Conclusions; long past, tomorrow will yeild the same results
A painful memory, ressurected and beckons for a taste of you
You let it, not knowing it will only rot your insides until they are dust
And soon you realize, you too will be swept away by the light breeze in the night air.

Everyone is capable of being that person you despise
And everyone is capable of being that person that everyone else trusts
Is it pre-determined at conception?
Are we pre-determined to be who we are today?

Genetics; the basis of the human race and animals alike
Is that priest that you put all of your trust in worthy of such a task?
Is that next-door neighbor you let occasionally watch your children
going to turn out to be the next BTK killer?

Questions.
Questions.

Presumptions; already being taken into account
Never indluging in an answer to ease your troubled mind
You assume the worst, afterall, it is the best way to prepare yourself
And soon you realize, tomorrow may not come, nevertheless.

Everyone is capable of being that person you admire
And everyone is capable of being that person that everyone else convicts
Can we choose our fate, just the way you chose to walk out and leave me alone?
Or is it something that is completely out of our hands?

Chromosomes; the makeup of a human body
23 from mother, 23 from father
Does this mean that we are exactly half of what our mother was
And exactly half of what our father was?

Questions.
Questions.

Proficient; always taking your time not to make any mistakes
Never reciting it back to yourself, continually practicing your skillful work
Knowing that it is picture perfect, each and every time you execute your superior crime
Now you are even more cocky than before.

Everyone is capable of being that person that can complete you, mind, body, soul
And everyone is capable of being that person that everyone conciders their worst enemy
Do we subconsciously nominate ourselves to be that person?
Are you, subconsciously, choosing to walk out of my life and provide no answers?

Questions.
Questions.

You, my feeble, narrow-minded friend, are too conceited for words.

This is a question that I've puzzled over for many years - that anyone can fulfill that space - do we all come down to our base components or are we more? You depict it most eloquently.
