sovereign

By lovechild

i like to roam these silent streets
at 2:00 and 3:00 and 4:00
when i am virtually the only soul
who exists to live the lure
save scattered grey-blue figures
with hunched over, hungry lives
on predators incessantly at hunt
eyes as sharp as knives
and here i slink along casually
as if i could rule this macabre scene
a lovely black-silk draped wraith
whom demons call their sovereign queen
they pray to me in chanted prose
singing dirges in idolatric bliss
at sunrise i just vanish
as ephemereal as a wish...

Hmm. I don't know what your intent here was, but your wordplay was quite intriguing, well placed and seemingly moving of its own accord. Nifty. ~b
