Calypso

By freudian-slip

Adept at the art of speaking
incarceration
while his thoughts muddled tones
of stepping over the cracks
hoping only
her REM state
offered him forgiveness

perhaps even thoughts of freedom

A man once married to the concept of unconditional friendship
had since thrown the coat over his back
and headed once again
for these familiar
four walls

crimes committed
somehow
lost their guilt
as memories churn themselves
into a solidified disaster

nothing obvious to the outsider

peering in

between the bars
