How Does A Dark Poet Write Happiness?
By Adam
When I’m happy
When I’m not down
When I’m glad
When I can not frown
When I leave the tears behind
When I believe in mankind
When it’s not dark
When I feel smart
When life’s good
When all goes as it should
When life is a game
When there is no more shame
How do I write
My emotions tonight?

I agree with Nike, everyone’s definition of dark is different…and I am not so sure once we pick up the pencil or start tapping the keys if we can set something a certain way. Just be you, allow yourself to flow in the words…forget there is an audience, don’t worry what anyone would think as that can hold one back. Let your heart free!

everyone's definition of 'dark' is different... doesn't have to mean depressing, suicidal and all the other stereotypes running amok... make it whatever you want and write however you want, when you want... simple as that.. good write though... makes one pause and think

Try not writing about yourself. Try writing from another's perspective, or from an object's persepective. Or about an object or person. It doesn't matter. I don't really even consider myself, or most of my favorite writers on here dark poets, or any kind of poets. Just expressive people. There are no boxes. haha, I don't know if you were being rhetorical or not. Either way, great write, and I know exactly what you mean.

ok i had to be funny for a second. this is good. a common feeling fetl by many 'dark' poets. i guess unfortunately however 'dark' life might be there are always 'light' spots. write, just write, what ever you feel. very nice write. ~ta~
