Fate is Fickle but Free Will is a Bitch
By TheUltimateOutlaw
Fate:
The ultimate agency that predetermines
the inalterable course of events…
Be this the case, free will is only
The illusion of the dream
Of a controlled state
Of existence…
Fate can be
Fickle
Hence, is often personified
As a woman.
But free will
Is inarguably a bitch.
Better to be helpless in the face of Destiny.
I mean really…
When the planets align against you
And plot out your imminent
Demise…
Do you really want to say
You had a hand in it?

My oh My, Your thought processes twist and turn in intricate loops like a roller coaster that leaves me dizzy but smiling. As far as the content of the meaning, I have to add my two cents. I believe there is no fate, there is no "meant to be" there are only our actions and their reulting consequences. Yes, free will is a female dog, because we have to live with the responsibility for our choices. I wouldn't have it any other way. Without choice, time would be like a T.V. channel that there is no point in watching. You can't affect the outcome. * * * BTW, I also believe there is no spoon.

I dont know...I kinda think its cool that everything I've done in my life has led me to the point I am right now. Maybe not having subconscious control over everything can be a bit unnerving, but still, i think it's fascinating that maybe, just maybe, my life's been guided by an unseen force, to help me get to the place I need to go. Obstacles only hinder for as long as you let them, so I can't blame "whatever" for those. Right?

I'd rather have a tangible person to blame, even if it is myself. Coincidence and natural causality are two different things, and neither of them has much to do with fate or free-will. :) I liked this. I've liked most of what you've posted.

We don't have free will. If you define it as "a choice not having been caused, or predetermined." We are products of our enviornment, combined with the energies of the universe. Neuroscience actually has yeilded evidence to support that we don't have free will. ( News york times articles ) Anyways this was a great write. Egocentric as we all are, isn't it a bitch to aquire such knowledge?
