Security and Solitude
By Rhys Ki
This life left me empty,
My heart with joy never leapt.
You gave me pain’s antidote,
And, with it, so by it, I slept.
It’s okay, though, just keep me on
A leash and I’ll be your pet.
Then, what you’ve always wanted,
Will soon be what you get;
Nothing will ever happen
To me, I’ll bet.
For that’s the mode to which
I’ve been set.
So, here I stand, with
This gun to my head,
Wondering if it’ll matter,
Since I’m already dead.
But please don’t talk me down,
And please, don’t you fret.
You should already know that
It’s far too late for regret.

So very-very true. I love how it shows the invincible feeling that youth have, along with indifference. It may be short but it's very excellent none the less...
