Amongst the Flowers

By Rhys Ki

I am no longer the forgiving kind,

For I let heartbreak make up my mind.

A nameless, roguish boy from the past

Will make sure that no other love will last.

I stand alone in a field of budding foliage.

They encircle my thoughts with their majestic

And splendid arrays of smells and scents

I am enveloped by its delicate prominence

This wonderfully crafted gift of nature has inspired

Songs...

Poetry…

And Love...

They gather so much adoration and veneration

With their marvelous pallet of luminous colors.

So, still alone, I give-in to contemplation;

Why has true love not found me among the flowers?

    I love the image this work portrays... also, impressive in the fact that the subject matter is so easy to relate too. Who hasn't at one point pondered loves manifestation and when they too would feel its grasp. keep writing .

    Loved that first line. I think you won't have a problem finding true love. Just don't let the past rust you over. Good things take a while. great read.
