Fortified Foundation

I told you before, when I finally hold you
I will do so as forever holds time
I'll cradle you in these two loving arms
between a pounding heart and a cool mind

I will always keep you happy and warm
protect you against any kind of harm
I'll always make you smile and laugh
with my ultra cool witty charm ;)

Ha - see . . . I bet I made ya smile
maybe I even made ya laugh a little too
I just need ya to know deep down
I would do anything you asked me to do

but I know there will be other times
when happiness is hard to come by
those times I will just sit and listen
hold you even closer if you need to cry

I'll always hope I didn't cause those tears
though I am mortal and do make mistakes
but I will always make it up to you
always, no matter what it takes

cuz our love grows from a fortified foundation
