the lossssst

By lovechild

distrust established in the memories unblocked,
we wore out shoes from the moment we could walk
we communicated anger phonetically, in baby talk
they said,"how cute." first words? "hate you!" (they were shocked)
but someone knew. he sat brooding, brewing twisted plots
weaving at the web; we were filaments life forgot
like spores of fungus in the heat of summer's rot
'til the adolescent nightmare drowned in ethers and we forgot
later spinning through a place of opiated hollows
we gathered amongst dying embers to commemorate our sorrows
here and there wispy remnants of faded dream-tomorrows
clung to trees we never climbed like corpses from the gallows

but perhaps this poem will shatter the indifference of your thoughts
like a pane of glass from a skyscraper had dropped
and in its imagery you will be snared, reeled in and caught
like a perceived fish swimming through ink-blots
an infinite number of held-back tears are sacrificed in art
to give you a gift from the essence of our hearts
to fill you with our sorrows and to rip your world apart
to leave you with the knowledge of the reason we depart

all those suicides might have stopped were one word said
if you search you may find it buried with dusted bones of the dead

Nice rhyming scheme and very elegant. I enjoyed this because the words spoke to me in a form of clarity I always enjoy. I just wish I could get more if it. Thank you. :)
