  • "An old Alfred Hitchcock tale I believe it was, about an Englishman who went out and chopped down a tree each day just before noon time. When he went to the grocer, all he bought was chutney! Seems he was eating his wife, piecemeal. Reminded me of that bit, cheers and bon apetit! "

  • "You never fail to surprise with original subject matter and marvelous metaphors, or maybe a simile in this instance. Oh, that water is hard too if your form is off (don't hit the bottom with your noggin!), cheers!"

  • "Quit wearing thos eclogs then, they will slip out from under you when least expected and leave you staring at the stars. Oh, and you can only pop then while walking through the goo (by my translation) - cheers Stephy!"

  • "I wonder if he's happy now...? This is why older people with more mature emotions (actually just the same emotions, only battle-hardened) make the best poetry, when it comes to writing about life. So well done and the initial one-two punch lines were superb, thanks Stephy!"

  • "Religion is a man-made construct, while God is a basic human need to explain the unknown perhaps. Much like the quote (paraphrased) "people who don't believe in a God, only believe in themselves, and other like-minded individuals". Bottom line: many atheists are really only agnostics. Actually it's a sucker's bet - make the wrong choice and at journey's end, you're screwed!"

  • "Don't sell yourself short, many of us just function on a more instinctual and less complicated level, makes life easier sometimes, at the risk of wearing our emotions on our sleeve, cheers Stephy!"

  • "Great advice to all aspiring poets, I'll jump out of bed (slowly) often just to jot down a line or two - then lay awake fleshing it out, all too frequently - but a nice kind of insomnia to suffer. Thanks Stephy!"

  • "I try every chance I get - or wait, you mean my muse! (HA). Well said and the inspiration seems most awake in the wee hours as I problems solve (or something) in my dreams. Thanks Stephy and very true! Hard to beat it when the words come effortlessly."

  • "Those closest to us often see the least and are lousy critics when it comes to our craft. Either gushing effusively at mediocre work or just saying "that's nice" when something is deep and meaningful. Not honest arbiters of what we do and what it means, unless about them and in their face. But don't be too hard on them - we are probably numb to some subjects near and dear as well. Thanks Stephy."

  • "Then the unfeeling cad is living on borrowed time, yet? I read my stuff aloud, unless the wife is doing something really important, like watching TV, which she usually is. But occasionally I catch her in a weak moment, but they grow farther apart over time. Bottom Line - family just don't get it, at best they'll think you a bit off center, good luck lady!"

  • "People give off carbon dioxide too (just like trees at night) and are therefore generating the bad greenhouse gases that we will all be taxed on in the near future - scam of the century. Redistribution from first to third world blackmail, but then I digress."

  • "Au contraire mon cherie! The bean counters have found we actually use more office paper now since everybody seems to want a hard copy of emails and the like. But it does sound reasonable enough in the offing, thanks."

  • "Was wondering until the last line if the person would be revealed. Our parents think they know most everything, until the roles eventually become reversed. They're cute at that age, aren't they? Well done Stephy!"

  • "A much neglected subject and you have treated it with medical clarity and age-appropriate humor. Funny where our inspiration comes from, cheers!"
