  • "I read this for the first time ten years ago. I was under a different screen name then... But anyways. I probably think about this poem once a month. I created another account just to find and read it again. I've been reading it all day. It is the only thing that has given me hope that I might finally walk away from this relationship. I've been freaking out asking myself "what am I without her?" When I should be thinking of ways to return to myself. This relationship has taken me to a dark place. But this piece gives me a little token of hope to turn between my knuckles. Thank you so much."

  • "A bookmark list longer than most peoples favorites list and so many comments that they won't fit on one page....and this is just now getting POTD. Wow. I feel like a special badge should be created because of this piece. A "hall of fame" type thing; definitely deserves it."

  • "hi, I'm new here and I just love this work. I loved the refrain, and I read this as almost a lullaby. I can certainly feel the emotion!"

  • "Lovely like musical lyrics to a sad song of someone i once knew. Her troubles were all her own. She lived in a world that no one knew, but aren't we all in our private dreams made real? We can lie to ourselves so seductively that we want to believe. You saw the truths of her, perhaps everyone did, and yet she slips by, always wondering why no one else sees what she sees. "

  • "This struck a nerve, a different chord. Because, whenever a friend comes to me for advice, and they shoot my advice down, saying they've already done this or that, and no more could be done, I always said, "Well, could be worse." In all honesty, I think it's double faced for figure. Those who say nothing or agree with "It could be worse," are no better than those who suggest it in the first place. Very touching write though.
