life in cars

By jack paper

airport intersection
left turn lane east
red light

red as the lips
of the raven haired beauty
in the south turn lane of the
I-80 interchange

olive skin contrasting
the pale ivory leather interior

white dime store t-shirt clings
to every curve the way
i imagine her red beemer does the road

you're my type lover
and you're drivin' my car
i wanna get to know you

she glances my way
licks her lips
then each finger one by one
oh baby, i caught your eye

as the light turns green
i think about our life together
where we'll live

we make eye contact through
her midnight black oakleys
as i slowly take my turn

she puts another french fry
in her mouth and licks her
delicate fingers

i round the corner
speed on past micky d's
and head on off

to the next intersection

Mm yes. Teasing piece. I love how car, road and girl are one mysterious, oblivious seductress.

No better a way to deal with traffic than to imagine the lives of those behind other wheels and to where they are off to. Lovely interpretation. ~T
