Consummation
By ANGELSLAYER
Consumed myself today
For the price of a high
Destroying myself
Just to cover the pain
I seem to thrive on deprivation
On self-inflicted degradation
I tried to fill the emptiness
The emptiness filled me
All my senses deadened
Love forgone
I handed out pain with every embrace
Hidden by a mask of apathy
I really just wanted your sympathy
All the negativity I expressed
I felt for myself

I can so relate. The emptiness. The negativity that proceeds me and rubs off onto others. One of the better poems Ive read about addiction. Nice...

this is very uniquely written. i like the end being two lines. the flow just sort of rolled off your tongue and thats a hard thing i accomplish along with a peice of work that makes sense.
