Dark Encounter

By jack paper

Still...
Moonlight filtered through fog
Reflecting off fetid pools
Amplifying the eerie silence.
I see strange soft light
Feel darkness shattered.
A candle lit by unseen hand.

I need to see.

Stealthily I follow entranced.

Who are you?
Why do you come here?

A certain lust takes hold
I want to probe, delve
deeply into gray fissures,
labryinth miles of unfamiliar terrain,
where beauty comes unexpectedly
but not easily.
I know because I too
Have been lost in these moors.

Through the mists
Your light flickers seductively
Beconning like a wounded fawn
To a sweating savage, salivating.
Obsession takes root
I struggle with who I am but
Decide that I don't care
I will put myself in danger
Get closer to the fire
So you can see what burns
Behind my eyes
Frantically fanning flames
The brand begins to glow
I will imprint you
I will possess you
I move closer now
Your footsteps quicken
Matching the pace of your heart
