Not My Time

By l mo

I star into space
Still in shock
How could this happen?
How could this be?

Regain my composure
Appear that I'm fine
Hide my emotions
I hurt inside

Tears inside
That I cannot cry
"You must be strong,
You mustn't die"

Live on without
I don't know if I can
You were my reason for life
Holding my to reality

My whole life I knew
You can't just leave
I love you more than anything
Please don't die

Tears fall freely from my eyes
Body trembling as I say my good-byes
Lower the blade down to my wrist
Scenes replay before my eyes
Whispered promises in my ear
Car crashed into you, driver drunk
I promised you I would go on
Without you by my side

Remove the blade
Wipe the tears away
Tonight is not my time to die
Nor the time to say good-bye
