An Endless Masquerade
By wandering druid
I suppose it's time again
to put on my mask
and hide who I am
To keep up appearences
In this Endless Masquerade
So,
I'll just act like you
Would expect me to
Jump through the hoops
You have so graciously set for me
A dog well-trained by repitition
Well,
Time to smile again
Time for another false assurance
If you even wanted
To really know me
You wouldn't have to ask
If I need help
And,
The time has come again
and I've put on my mask
To hide myself behind the smile
I'll keep up my appearence
In this
Endless Masquerade
And try not to wince as
My individuality fades away

wonderful flow...and hint of sarcasm...i feel like this sometimes, conformity is devious....it may be pleasing on the surface but sometimes you wonder at the end of it all, if your dreams, your choices, your goals are really yours.

our individuality will never fade - so long as you continue to express yourself here on DP - well done :)

I liked this.I especially loved the last two lines, those lines speak alot.I'm sure everyone can understand/appreciate those last lines..Individuality,the one word everyone seeks.
