tracks
By Northstar
i look at you
wide-eyed
open to everything
you are
and everything
we could be
so much of what i want
and even more
of what i need
yet i hear a whisper
in my mind
'those who forget the past
are doomed to repeat it'
playing like a scratched 45
trying to brake this runaway train
as we head down these tracks
at the speed of life
hearts exploding with possibility
beyond every horizon
and souls aching
to not find ourselves alone
at yet another station
dizzy with the blur
of the ride that got us there
and wondering
if we have enough
for another fare
