Poison The Raven

By Liath

You continue to surprise me
With your tongue that cuts like razors
And spins me into a frenzy
Of choking on my breath
And swallowing my tongue
The bile rises in my throat
And the tears burn the tender flesh below my eyes
I've seen terrible things
But I bet you haven't seen this yet
How's it feel to kill me?
How's it feel to treat me like you do?
Look in the mirror to see what you felt a while ago
Bloodied and swollen
Black and bruised
Only to realize that
It's the current face
Of the one you once adored
Sitting against a wall in the dark
I scratch another tally in my arm
To count the times that I've cried
Over the things that you've said about me
The ways you've killed me
With the things you've said to me
I know the taste of gun metal all too well
Yes, I really do
It might well be the last thing I taste
Before the blood rinses my mouth
And sprays your name all over my carpet
